The VITaL clinical trial partner Trans‑Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) Cancer Research has recently featured the VITaL trial in a news article following the recruitment of the first Australian participant — a major milestone for the study.
The VITaL (Ventilation Imaging for Thoracic Lung cancer radiation therapy) trial, a collaborative effort between TROG and the University of Sydney, is exploring a novel imaging technique called CT ventilation imaging that aims to reduce radiation therapy side effects and improve quality of life for people living with lung cancer.
Recruitment of the first patient marks a significant step forward in testing this promising approach, which could ultimately help clinicians minimise damage to healthy lung tissue during treatment and improve outcomes for patients in Australia and around the world.
Congratulations to the entire team and everyone involved in advancing this important research — we’re proud to be part of this partnership and look forward to future updates.
